What's inside the busy book
The Tiny Walkers' Busy Book is a reusable busy book (some people call it a quiet book) for kids aged 3 and up. It has 30 thick, laminated pages with 28 activities, 95+ hook-and-loop pieces and 8 wipe-clean markers, all kept together in a zippered case.
The 28 activity pages cover:
- Writing: trace the alphabet from A to Z and the numbers 0 to 9.
- Animals: match farm animals, world wildlife, desert life, underwater friends, bugs and baby animals to their spots.
- Colours: identify the colours, colour in the fruit bowl and a fruit frenzy page.
- Shapes and drawing: trace squares, circles, hearts and stars, sort pieces by shape, and trace an elephant and a panda.
- Counting: seek and count kittens and puppies, count with your fingers, stick on the stars and number the groups.
- Puzzles and mazes: a body puzzle, a pet puzzle, "Who am I?" jobs, and follow-the-line pages like reach the food, lead Spotty home, find mummy, help the bee and land the planes.
How it works
Kids peel pieces off, find where they belong and stick them back on. Tracing pages take the wipe-clean markers, so they can trace, wipe and go again. The hook-and-loop dots come on a separate sheet: you stick the hard side on the book and the soft side on the cut-outs. Setting it up takes about 20 minutes and makes a good first activity together. There are 120 dot sets, including 20 spares.
